Outside Play.   Jab Step Straight Drive.   See this page also.   In triple threat position, make a jab step (hold for 1-count), and read the defender. If the defender does not drop back, attack at the defender's forward foot. Here, the defender's outside foot is forward. Extend the outside leg straight around the defender (do not return the jab step back), and push off the back foot. Drive at the defender's outside shoulder in a straight line. In the clip, this is a borderline "travel"... make sure the ball leaves your hand (start of the dribble), before the pivot foot comes off the floor. Not shown here, a good shot fake is often more effective than the jab step.
